Carl Linger age 90 of Angus Drive, Glenville, WV; (Letter Gap Community) departed this life on the morning of Monday December 26, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. Born June 2, 1926 in Lewis County, WV; Carl is the son of the late French and Ressie Shoulders Linger. Carl was a farmer for most of his working life. In his spare time he enjoyed working on the farm, hunting, gardening watching sports on TV, and he was a Baptist by faith. On December 23, 1946, Carl was united in marriage to Ruth Annabelle Collins Linger, who preceded him in death on September 8, 2004. Surviving is 1 son, James L. “Jim” Linger of Glenville, 1 step son Larry Fox of Letter Gap, 1 brother, Ralph “Billy” Linger and wife Jane of Horner, WV; 4 grandchildren, Taylor and Teara Linger of Akron, OH; Raymond Riffle and wife April of Sand Fork, and Larry Preston Fox of Charleston, WV,  1 great-granddaughter, Michelle Riffle, Sand Fork, WV,  1 sister-in-law, Alta Virginia Baker of Letter Gap, and family friend and caretaker, Steve Tomey of Letter Gap. Along with his wife and parents, Carl was preceded in death by 1 son Richard Linger, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351, at 1:00 PM; Friday, December 30, 2016 with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at the Mortuary. Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Carl Linger with arrangements.
