Gladys Mae Ellison age 78 of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life on the afternoon of Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, WV; following an extended illness. Born August 3, 1938 in Gilmer County, WV; Gladys is the daughter of the late Leland “Rab” and Mary Morris McCullough.
Gladys was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, caring for her family, and spoiling all the children in her family, whenever possible. In her spare time, Gladys enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, cooking, and she was a Baptist by faith.
On December 7, 1954 she was united in marriage to Norvel Ellison, who preceded her in death on Friday, September 15, 2006.
Surviving are 2 children, Patricia Ann Golden and husband Ronnie of Glenville and Norvel Allen Ellison and wife Debbie of Elyria, Ohio, and 5 siblings, Woodrow “Woody” McCullough, Sherman McCullough, Nancy McCullough, Mary Lou Dennison, and Arthur McCullough.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Mindi Ellison, Christina Ellison, Joseph Briner, and Edward Sudina, and 5 great-grandchildren, Michael and Joey Sudina, Katie Lynn Ellison, and Lola and Wyatt McCarrick.
Along with her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Anthony Michael Sudina, and 4 siblings, John Jacob and Andrew McCullough, Leona Vanhoose, and Lillian Clevenger.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Dr; Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, January 18, 2017 with Pastor Bryan Groves and Pastor Dwight Goff officiating. Burial will follow in the Dusk Camp Methodist Cemetery on Dusk Camp Run Road. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Tuesday evening at the mortuary and Wednesday from Noon- 1:00 PM.
