Lettie May Pridemore (Riddle)
November 8, 1932 - December 10, 2017
Lettie May Pridemore 85 of Hickory Hollow Road, (Tanner Community) departed this life on the evening of Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. Born November 8, 1932 in Gilmer County, Lettie is the daughter of the late Tracy W. and Freda Bennett Riddle.
Lettie was a homemaker who enjoyed living the quiet life in West Virginia. She loved caring for her children, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Lettie was a graduate of Tanner High School, class of 1951 and was a Methodist by faith.
Lettie was a very religious person who loved attending churches around the Tanner and Cox’s Mills area. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the Bible, singing, and listening to all types of Gospel music.
In February 1976, Lettie was united in marriage to Robert Pridemore, who preceded her in death in the Fall of 1998.
Surviving are 5 children, Jackie Smith of Hazlegreen, WV; Richard K. Smith and wife Tammy of Tanner, WV; Paul “Eddie” Carter and wife Tamela of Elizabeth, WV; Bobby Dale Pridemore and wife Donna of Crewe, VA; and Carl Pridemore of Bunker Hill, WV; and 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Workman and husband Scott of Morgantown, WV; Justin Carter and wife Amanda of Lebanon, TN; Dustin Wade of Elizabeth, WV; Stacey Mosser and fiancĂ©e Nathan Morgan of Hazelgreen, WV; Kevin Smith of Morgantown, WV; Miranda Utt and husband Jonah of Parkersburg, WV; Paige and Karissa Pridemore of Harrisonburg, VA; and Kaitlyn Pridemore of Crewe, VA.
Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, Kaden and Landen Workman, Tyler and Donovan Eilering, Kaylee and Riley Carter, Michael Holdren, and Mason Hull and her long-time caregiver and friend Melissa Paxson of Glenville, WV.
Along with her parents, Lettie was preceded in death by her half brother Leonard N. Bennett and infant twin Nettie Pridemore.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Thursday, December 14, 2017 with Rev. Kevin Eakle officiating. Burial will follow in the Spruce Creek Cemetery in Ritchie County. Friends will be received from 11-1 Thursday at the mortuary.
