Pearl T. Gaston 96 of Normantown, WV departed this life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center following an extended illness.
She was born August 11, 1922 in Normantown, daughter of the late Evert and Rhoda Phillips Turner.
Pearl is a graduate of Normantown High School and worked for the Gilmer County Board of Education as a cook at Normantown, having retired in 1983 with 22 years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, and camping.
On May 27, 1945 Pearl was united in marriage to Harold D. Gaston who preceded her in death on February 4, 1997.
Surviving is her sister, E. Pauline Greenlief and husband Paul of Glenville, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Pearl is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ralph, Ray, and Robert Turner, and a nephew, Jeffery Turner.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 11:00 AM; Saturday, October 6, 2018 with Pastor Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows Cemetery in Normantown. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Friday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
