Linda Cottrill, 76, of Stout’s Mills, WV; departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV; following a short illness.

She was born May 20, 1945 in Gilmer County, WV; daughter of the late Earl and Delphia Nicholas White.

Linda is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1963. She was employed by Kinney Shoe Factory in Glenville as a sewer and later on kept the books for Halico Contracting. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed photography, gardening, mushroom hunting, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.

Linda is a Christian by faith and attended church at the Little Kanawha Independent Church near Burnsville.

On October 3, 1990 she was united in marriage to Haymon Cottrill who preceded her in death on January 19, 2013.

Surviving is a son Edgell J. “Jamie” Jones (Pam) of Glenville, WV; Rose Craig (Freddy) of Linn, WV; Rita Brown of Glenville, Dave Cottrill of Flatwoods, WV; and a sister, Carol Hamm of Parkersburg, WV.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Linda is preceded in death by 3 children, John Jones, Haymon Lynn Cottrill, and Cheryl Miner, 1 grandson, Robbie Cottrill, 1 infant grandson, Frederick Craig, 1 infant great-granddaughter, Marissa Sumner, and 12 siblings, Sylven, Arden, Dean, Cary, Hubert, Cebert, Calvin and Marvin White, Phyllis Gay White, Lesta Vipperman, Fonda Wright, and Agnes Hughes.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, December 31, 2021 with Pastor Bryan Groves and Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottrill Family and Friends Cemetery on Sliding Run Road. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 PM; Friday morning at the mortuary in Glenville.
