Obituaries

Betty Lou Heckert, 80 of Baldwin, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV; following an extended illness.

She was born January 8, 1942 in Gilmer County, WV; daughter of Mary Moore and the late Claude Pritt.

Betty was the owner of Betty’s Floral Designs in Glenville for over 30 years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, traveling, spending time at the beach, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.

Betty is a Christian by faith and attended the Rock Grove Baptist Church in Linn, WV.

On November 1, 1959 Betty was united in marriage to Junior Heckert who survives at their home in Glenville.

Along with her mother Mary and companion Arden Cox of Glenville, Betty is survived by 3 children, Terry Heckert and wife Mary of Glenville, Kim Frymier and husband Cliff of Glenville, and Darlene Somerville and husband Rob of Linn, and 1 brother, Jack Pritt of Round Lake Beach, IL.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Scott Frymier, Zach Frymier and wife Bethany, Taylor Somerville and wife Tiffany, Carly Somerville, Julie Perrin and husband Sam, Mike Heckert, and Yohanna Heckert.

Surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, Lena, Griffin, and Deacon Frymier, Mason, Matthew, and Miley Perrin, and Axel and Avery Somerville. There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022 with Pastor Ben Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Grove Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday April 23, 2022 at the mortuary in Glenville.
