Stella L. Moore, 72 of Cedar Creek Road, departed this earthly life in the evening hours on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Elizabeth Care Center in Elizabeth, WV, following a courageous battle with dementia.
She was born March 8, 1951 in Gallipolis, OH; daughter of the late Freddie M. “Fred” and Maxine (Montgomery) Perry.
She grew up with one brother and many cousins to keep her company during her younger years. Stella worked in many settings including a daycare, a Laundromat, and cleaning houses in Gilmer County. Stella enjoyed crocheting and going to auctions to collect Fenton glassware. She also enjoyed visiting neighbors, family & friends whenever she could. She was a Christian by faith and had attended Camden Flats Baptist Church of Glenville, WV.
On April 14, 1967, Stella was united in marriage to Edmund Monroe “Ed” Moore Sr. who preceded her in death on May 11, 2023.
Surviving are 3 children, son Edmund “Arch” Moore Jr (Tammy) of Glenville, WV; daughter, Heidi Lindsay of Glenville, WV; and daughter Billie Jo Greenlief (Joe) of Buckhannon, WV. Also surviving him are 6 grandchildren Caleb L. Moore (Skylar) of Glenville, WV; Cody M. Moore of Glenville, WV; Jacob K. Lindsay (Candice) of Orma, WV; Michaela R. Ferguson of Buckhannon, WV; Adam Hunter Moore of Glenville, WV; and Hannah M. Moore of Glenville, WV. One great grandchild Zoey Moore of Glenville, WV also survives her.
Along with her parents and husband of 56 years, Stella is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Frederick “Buzz” Perry.
Stella’s request for cremation has been honored and a family celebration of her life will be conducted at Camden Flats Baptist Church, date and time to be announced.
