Robert Lee George, 62 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Monday, June 16, 2025 at his residence, with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 10, 1962 in Phillipsburg, NJ; son of the late Charles and Ila (Neff) George.
Robert was a well tender in the oil and gas industry. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandkids whenever possible.
On January 29, 1982 Robert was united in marriage to Dedra (Cottrill) George who survives at their Sand Fork home.
Surviving are 2 children, Robert Lee George Jr., (Sarah) of Clarksburg, WV; and Melissa Johnson of Glenville, and 7 siblings, Linda George of Elizabeth, WV; Raymond George of Elizabeth, WV; Frank George of Hurt, VA; Virginia Price of Tanner, WV; Dennis Marshall (John) of South Point, OH; Chris George of Tanner, WV; and Tim George of Evington, VA.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Brianna George, Zachery Pritt, JJ Johnson, and Destiny Miner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a niece, Tina Marie George.
A funeral service was conducted on Thursday, June 19, 2025 with Pastor Joe Weaver officiating. Burial followed in the Meadow Lane Cemetery near Glenville.
