Doris Ann Williams, 86, of Third Run Road, Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born October 7, 1938 in Grantsville, WV; daughter of the late Clay and Esther (Bell) Francis.
Doris is a graduate of Calhoun County High School, class of 1957. She is a former employee of Glenville State College where she worked as a secretary in the maintenance department. After retirement in 2001, Doris enjoyed sewing, working with crafts, square dancing, working on flower arrangements, decorating her home for every holiday, and she loved her family more than anything.
Surviving are 3 children, Denise Duncan of Charleston, WV; Leslie Reedy (Jarrett of Wheeling, WV; and Douglas “Chester” Collins of Morgantown, WV; and 6 grandchildren, Stacey Barton (Jason), Logan Whaley (Amanda), Jason Thompson (Shawnie), Amber Williams, Erica Williams, and Nick Williams.
Also surviving are multiple great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents (Clay and Esther), Doris is preceded in death by 2 sons, Barry and Eric Williams, a granddaughter, Jamie Lee Starkey, sister, Nila Smith, and her former husband James Franklin Williams.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Saturday, June 28, 2025 with Pastor Donnie Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Mt. Zion, WV. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM; Saturday at the mortuary in Glenville.
The family requests your choice of flowers or a donation be made to the First Baptist Church, Cancer Fund, 217 E. Main Street, Glenville WV; 26351 in honor of Doris.
