William Ward Dean, age 63, of Grass Run Road, Glenville, West Virginia, (Normantown Community), departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, West Virginia, following a short illness. Born May 25, 1952 in Braxton County, West Virginia. William was the son of the late Harry and Ida Belle James Dean.
William was a roustabout in the oil and gas industry. He enjoyed reading books, watching westerns on TV, gardening, mowing his yard, and spending time spoiling his grandchildren. William was also a Baptist by faith.
On December 13, 1975, he was united in marriage to Vickie Conrad Dean, who survives at their Upper Grass Run home.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Jeremy Dean and wife Leisa of Glenville, and Christopher Dean and companion Brittany Large of Glenville, 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Justyn, Kodei, Alaina, and Catelin Dean all of Glenville, and 4 brothers, Terry Dean and wife Linda of Burnsville, Harry Dean Jr. and wife Ruth of Flatwoods, Jimmy Dean of Columbus, Ohio, and Little Jim Dean of Flatwoods.
Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by 2 sisters Tammy Pearl Dean and Glora Jean Jenkins.
William’s request for cremation has been honored and the family will have a memorial service at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015. Friends may call from 5-7 Friday evening at the mortuary.
