Delma Vance age 81 of Sand Fork Road, Linn, WV; (Sand Fork Community) departed this life on the afternoon of Saturday, December 24, 2016 at residence following an extended illness. Born October 2, 1935 in Braxton County, WV; Delma was the daughter of the late Joe and Zana Perkins Greathouse.
Delma was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, reading books, watching TV, going to yard sales, cooking, and listening to gospel music. She attended services at the Sand Fork, Church of God of Prophecy, and she was a Baptist by faith.
Surviving are 8 children, Diana Vance of Linn, WV; Les Vance (Kelly) of Sullivan, OH; Robert Vance (Deanna) of Montville, OH; Sara Hoskinson ( Mike) of Lakeview, OH; Sandra Dietrich (Dan) of West Salem, OH; Judy Vance and long term companion Bill of Wadsworth, OH; Wayne Vance of Mansfield, OH; and Joann Vance-Bybee (Gil) of Akron, OH; and 3 brothers, Roy Greathouse (Wilma) of Akron, OH; Jack Greathouse (Laurie) of Glenville, WV; and Buck Greathouse (Margaret) of Newport News, VA.
Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.
Along with her parents, Delma was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Rick and Ray Anne Vance, 4 brothers, Donald, Harold, Junior, and Carl Greathouse, and 4 sisters, Wilda and Wanda Greathouse, Helen Snyder, and Hazel Greathouse.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Chapel, WV. Friends will be received from 11-1 PM; Wednesday morning at the mortuary.
