Billy Joe Parker

Billy Joe Parker, 62 of Linn, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was born November 4, 1959 in Weston, WV; son of the late Arley Sr. and Audrey Stump Parker.

Billy is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1978 and was a general laborer around the Gilmer County area for many years and also worked for the Department of Highways before his illness. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, playing Rook, classic cars, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren whenever possible.

On September 7, 2003 Billy was united in marriage to Brenda King Parker, who survives at their home in Linn.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Tamara Meadows (Nathan) of Walkersville, WV; and Kelsey Parker of Lincolnton, NC; 2 grandchildren, Haylee and Raelinn Meadows, and 2 siblings, Arley Parker of Parkersburg, WV; and Janice Richards (Robert) of Linn.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with his parents, Billy is preceded in death by 6 siblings, Delbert “Pete” Parker, Shirley Parker, Charles Parker, Helen Raines, Rosalie Lunsford, and Donna Odom.

The family would also like to sincerely thank the staff at WV Caring Hospice, Kimberly Harris, Kimberly Garrison, Christina Loudin, and Lacey Allman for taking such good care of Billy,

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, July 24, 2022 with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn. Friends will be received from 12 noon- 2:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
