Clifford A. “Cliff” Rock, 81, of Alum Bridge, WV; departed this earthly life on Friday, December 15, 2023 at his residence on Walnut Fork, following an extended illness. He was born August 1, 1942 in Royal Oak, MI; son of the late Cleo and Zella (Crittenden) Rock. Cliff is a graduate of Avondale High School in Auburn Heights, Michigan, class of 1960. He was co-owner of Willlow Creek Glass, which he founded with his wife, Claudia. They made and sold handmade glass art crafted from recycled glass. They traveled throughout the southeast US to many shows, fairs, and festivals. Their glass was sold internationally in many shops, and they were awarded “Craftsman of the Year” in 1996 at Tamarack ,”The Best of WV”. In his spare time, Cliff enjoyed playing his guitar, and living the quiet life in Alum Bridge. On June 14, 2008 Cliff was united in marriage to the love of his life, Claudia Louise (Stout) Rock, who preceded him in death on June 7, 2016. Surviving are 3 step-sons, Gregory Borowski, James Empoules and wife Mandy, and Sean Presgraves, all of Weston, WV; 1 step-son from a previous marriage, Anthony Rock, 1 brother, David Rock and wife Linda of Glenville, WV; and 3 step-grandchildren, Phoebe Presgraves, and Makaela and Simon Empoules. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Cliff is preceded in death by his loving wife, Claudia, and parents, Cleo and Zella. Cliff’s request for cremation has been honored and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
