James Victor Flower age 80 of Little Ellis Road, Sand Fork, West Virginia, departed this life in the early morning hours of Wednesday June 29, 2016 with his loving wife and son by his side.
Born July 1, 1935 in Hillsdale County, Michigan, Jim was the son of the late Sherman and Zulpha Burd Flower.
Jim was a carpenter in the construction industry having worked for Spaur Brothers Construction for many years. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed working with his hands, hunting, riding ATV’s, and helping his neighbors. Jim’s favorite hobby was working, he always loved to stay busy.
Jim was also a Methodist by faith.
On April 5, 1985 he was united in marriage to Margie McHenry Flower , who survives at their Little Ellis home.
Surviving are 3 children, Doran Flower and wife Monica of Pulaski, New York, James Franklin Flower and wife Mildred of Pittsford, Michigan, and Phyllis Jean McHenry and husband Arden of Linn, WV; and 1 sister, Jennie Luke of Hillsdale, Michigan.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Aaron McHenry and wife Sharron, Sabrina Flower, Cody Flower, Gabrielle Miele and husband Ryan, James Flower, Robert Sterling and wife Alice, Kenneth Sterling and wife Rachel, and Stephen Sterling and wife Karri, and 9 great-grandchildren, Zachary McHenry, Eva and Ameliana Miele, Gracie, Conner, Kaylee, Alexandria, Lucas and Timothy Sterling.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 1 sister and 8 brothers.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351, at 12 noon, Saturday July 2, 2016 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the McHenry II Cemetery in Sand Fork, WV. Friends will be received from 10-12 Saturday morning at the mortuary.
