Larry Keith Kight, age 79, of McLean, VA, departed life on October 8, 2016 in Woodbridge, VA.
Larry was born in White Pine, WV on November 10, 1936. He was the son of the late Leonard and Nola Kelley Kight, grandson of Charlie and Malinda Ball Kight and Bud and Orie Johnson Kelley. Larry was married to the late Arnetta “Peggy” Ann Brown in 1961.
Larry retired from teaching in Fairfax County, VA several years ago. His last school was Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, VA. He was an avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast. He was proud of West Virginia, his home state, and he loved Gilmer County. Larry was a graduate of Glenville State College.
Survivors include five grown children: Lori Ann Dayand her husband James, Sara Jane Gellios and her husband John, Elizabeth Stull, Kurt Kight and his wife Michelle, and Casey Kight and his wife Emily. Her beloved grandchildren in order of birth are Michael, Adam, Jennifer, Alex, Ashley, Austin, Jason, Jack, Drew, Kelly Ann, Calla, Porter and Ryan. Two great-granddaughters, Rylee and Sophia, will be born in early December. Larry is also survived by his brother Garry Kight.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday, October 14, 2016 will Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Stalnaker Cemetery in Glenville. Friends will be received from 4-6 PM Thursday evening and 10-11 AM Friday morning at the mortuary.
