Norma Dean Smith age 71 of Normantown, WV; departed this life in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her husband and loving family. Born March 16, 1945 in Grafton, Ohio, Norma was the daughter of the late Harold and Avis Cox Kennedy.
Norma was a homemaker and part time hair dresser. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, sewing, quilting, making crafts, and crocheting.
Norma was a Baptist by faith and member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Stumptown, WV.
On October 25, 1963, Norma was united in marriage to Rodney Smith, who survives at their Normantown home.
Surviving are 2 children, Sandra McNemar and husband Gene of Normantown and Randy Smith and wife Teresa of West Salem, OH; and 4 siblings, John Kennedy of Virginia, Carolyn Whitsel of Grafton, OH; Patricia Stump of Florida, and Connie Adams and husband Bud of Jane Lew, WV.
Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Jodie Parsons, and Tyler McNemar of Normantown, and 3 step-grandchildren, Steve, Ricky, and James Sandy, and 3 step-great grandchildren of West Salem, OH.
Along with her parents, Norma was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Marvin, Ronald, Donevan, and Harlan “Sug” Kennedy, and 1 sister, Elizabeth Moore.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church along WV Hwy 33 West in Stumptown, WV; at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with Pastor Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown. Friends will be received from 12 noon-1:00pm Wednesday at the Church.
