Parker Eugene “Park” Tallhamer Sr, age 85 of Duck Run Road, in Glenville, WV; departed this life peacefully in his sleep on the evening of December 4, 2016 at his residence.

Born January 08, 1931 in Lockney, WV; Parker was the son of the late Leonard B. and Dollie See Tallhamer.

Park was a Veteran of the United States Army and a retired equipment operator for the Department of Highways. After retirement, Park concentrated on farming, spending time with his grandchildren, watching wrestling on TV, and relaxing in his chair.

Park was best known for his kindness and living a quiet uncomplicated life. He was a man of few words but when he did speak people always listened.

For 58 years, Park was united in marriage to Wilma Langford Tallhamer, who survives, along with 6 children, Mildred “Millie” Plifka and husband Gene of Charlotte, NC; Parker E. “Gene” Tallhamer, Jr., Rusty Tallhamer and wife Grace, Norman Tallhamer and companion Lora Coffman,  Tammy Tallhamer all of Glenville, and Tina Miller and husband Craig of Shock, WV; and 2 brothers, James Guy Tallhamer of Coxs Creek, KY; and Robert L. Tallhamer of Oberlin, OH. Park fondly known as Pap to those who loved him, left behind 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Along with his parents, Park was preceded in death by 5 brothers, George, Junior, John, Harry, and Clarence Tallhamer, and 2 sisters, Ruby Tallhamer Wood, and Cathryn Tallhamer Suttles.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery on Middle Run Road at Lockney, WV.

Friends will be received from 6-8 PM; Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
