Donald Robert Kelble
October 24, 1930 - April 6, 2017
Donald Robert Kelble age 86 of Kelble Hollow Road in Gilmer County, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born October 24, 1930 in Abington, PA; Don is the son of the late Francis and Margaret Rinehart Kelble.
Don was a plumber and pipe fitter in the construction industry with 47 years of union experience. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, building things with his hands, and he did a lot of work for the Gilmer County Folk Festival and Country Store.
Don was a proud and knowledgeable family man, he helped build each of his children’s homes, making sure it was done right the first time, and he had no problem voicing his opinion on how something were to be accomplished.
On July 8, 1955 Don was united in marriage to Eileen “Sadie” Ryan Kelble, who survives at their home up Kelble Hollow Road.
Surviving are 4 children, Donna Nast and husband Richard of Quakertown, PA; Mary Eastman and husband Brian of Gettysburg, PA; Eddie Kelble of Glenville, WV; and Amanda Frymier of Glenville, WV; and 2 sisters, Mary K. Hamilton and husband Joseph of Tampa, FL; and Sarah B. Groetch of Glenside, PA.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren John Eastman and wife Trina of Naples, FL; Mimi Riffle and husband David of Buckhannon, WV; Rebecca Shermer and companion Matt Jordan of Ferndale, PA; Jason Frymier and wife Brittany of Glenville, WV; Kate Knepper and husband Nathan of Quakertown, PA; Patrick Frymier and wife Katie of Glenville, WV; Sarah and Abigail Kelble of Stevensville, MD; and Orin Webb of Elkins, WV; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kyle Shatto, Landon, Holden, and Hudson Riffle, Aiden Shermer, Ryley Knepper, and Cruz Frymier.
Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by 1 infant son, Donald Kelble Jr., 1 son-in-law, David “George” Frymier and 4 brothers, John, Francis, Paul, and Richard Kelble and 1 sister, Margaret Mary Christie.
Don’s request for cremation has been honored and the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
