Flora Belle Putnam, age 93, of Glenville departed this life Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her son’s home in Glenville after an extended illness.
She was born December 14, 1923 in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Oliver E. & Moxie Lawson Edwards. On December 31, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lester D. Putnam who preceded her in death in 1994.
Flora Belle & Lester owned and operated their own business; the last one being Putnam’s Restaurant in Glenville. In her later years, she enjoyed homemaking, church, spending time with her family and playing dominoes with her sisters.
Along with her parents and husband Flora Belle was preceded in death by one son, Kevin, one grandson, Jarod, one sister, Pearl Workman and 3 brothers, Lawson, Laco and Hayward Edwards.
Surviving are 2 sons, Lester Joe Putnam (Carol) of Glenville and Stephen Putnam (Beverly) of Ireland; 4 grandchildren: Kelly, Charlie, Kevin and Jason; 6 great-grandchildren: Bradley, Brandon, Rex, Courtney, Benjamin & Taylor; 1 great-great-grandchild, Macy; 6 sisters: Leo Jones, Athens, OH; Anna Ruth Montgomery, Alma (Cricket) Reed (Bob) all of Glenville, Betty Jo Turner (Glen) of OH, Pauline Egli of PA, Alice (Bobbie) Templeton of Stouts Mills and over 110 nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sand Fork Baptist Church with lunch following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sand Fork Baptist Church.
