Paul was preceded in death by his parents, step father Irving Clapp, and first wife, Pauleen Imogene “Emo” (Groves) Nagy. He is survived by his second wife, Debra (Reed) Nagy and their son, Paul Nagy III. Most important to Paul was his family. He loved his son more than anything.

Among those he attended were Phoenix College; Arizona State University – Tempe; University of Wisconsin – Madison, and Georgetown University.
Like his father, Paul was a Baptist by faith although he was raised in a Catholic Orphanage after the death of his father and until his mother remarried and brought the family back together.
