Harlan Gerald “Jerry” James age 74 of Bedford, Ohio departed this life on August 12, 2017 in Richmond Heights, Ohio following an extended illness.
Jerry was born on January 19, 1943 in Baldwin, WV. He is the son of the late Charles B. and Lauuna Bonnett James.
On May 29, 1965 Jerry was united in marriage to Iva Jean Moss James. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1992.
Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He also worked for Chrysler in automotive manufacturing.
Surviving are 2 children, Harlan Keith James (Michelle)and Anita Vincent (Troy) both of Ohio, 3 grandchildren, Allison Bates (Chris), Austin Bates, and Alyssa James, and 1 brother, Lee James of Glenville.
Along with his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and William James.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday, August 18, 2017 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery in Glenville with full military honors provided by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard. Friends and family will be received from 10-11 Friday morning at the mortuary in Glenville.
