Ronzel Norman Richards age 72 of Big Bend, WV (Norman Ridge Community) departed this life on the morning of Monday, December 18, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. Born August 13, 1945 in Calhoun County, Ronzel is the son of the late Desmoin and Maggie Norman Richards.
Ronzel was a general laborer for most of his working life. In his spare time he enjoyed living the quiet life in West Virginia and spending time with family and friends.
On March 17, 1969 Ronzel was united in marriage to Peggy Jackson Richards, who survives at their Norman Ridge home.
Surviving are 4 children, Ronzel Bill Richards and wife Melissa of Statesville, NC; Jeffery Allen Richards and fiancée Christy Myers of Big Bend, Rebecca Richards and long term companion Aaron Compton of Cape Coral, FL; and Norman Edward Richards and wife Carrie of Clarksburg, WV.
Also surviving are 3 siblings, Dessell Starcher of Barbarton, OH; Anna May Music of Point Pleasant, WV; and Larry Richards of Big Bend, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ronzel is preceded in death by 7 siblings, Dorothy Richards, Ola Lee Triplett, Sadie Cunningham, Patricia Knight, Charles Richards, Denver Richards, and Perry Richards
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Norman Ridge Church at 1:00 PM; Friday, December 22, 2017 with Pastor Don Howerton officiating. Burial will follow in the Norman Ridge Cemetery #1 at Big Bend. Friends will be received from 12-1 Friday at the church. Following services a dinner is being prepared in Ronzel’s honor at the Five Forks Community Church. All are encouraged to attend and share in food and fellowship.
