After an extended illness on Saturday January 5,2019. Marshall Eric Thompson, (Pap) age 60, of Turkey Fork, Gilmer County WV, departed this life to begin “his journey to eternal life and enlightenment.” He joins his father Harold (Tommy) Thompson II, mother, Ann Wills-Thompson, Brothers Harold (Corky) Thompson III, Bruce Thompson, and sister Beverly Thompson-Mcmenimin who began the journey before him.

Born in Doylestown P.A, he grew up in Norristown, PA, moving to Gilmer County when he
was a teenager with his family. Marshall joined the military in January of 1981 and was stationed in Italy where he was a lifeguard and drove tractor trailers. After getting out of the military in December of 1983, he met the love of his life Connie Peggs, who gave him 3 sons. He went from working with his father on the farm, to working in the oil field, for Penn Line, and at Flying “w” from 1997 to 2014.   Marshall was a free spirit that loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. He lived life to the fullest and would party like there was no tomorrow. He also liked dancing, singing, cooking for small armies, reading, telling stories and tinkering around. Marshall was a great teacher and philosopher, “history will repeat itself.” Marshall loved and is loved by so many lives throughout his life.

He leaves behind those who he cherished and will forever be changed by his presence in their lives.
