Mary Lou Dennison, age 62 of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV; following a brief illness.
She was born November 17, 1956 in Glenville, daughter of the late Leland and Mary Morris McCullough.
Mary is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1976 and former student at Glenville State College. Mary Lou was an employee in the food service industry, having served the community of Glenville and the surrounding area for more than 39 years.
In her spare time, Mary Lou enjoyed working puzzles, fishing, playing cards, and gambling with her best friend Kathy McCullough. Mary Lou also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and she especially loved spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible.
On August 19, 1978 Mary Lou was united in marriage to John V. Dennison, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1996.
Surviving are 4 children, Karen S. Cumberledge and husband Steve of Spelter, WV; JJ Dennison and wife Melissa of Grantsville, WV; Sabrina Dennison and husband Jeremiah of Provenience, KY; and Jacqueline S. Dennison also of Provenience, KY; 9 grandchildren, Casey, Kayla, and Joseph Cumberledge, Emily Dennison, Desiree Boyd, Keith Boyd Jr. Tristan Dennison, Scott Braeman, and Jacob Burton, and 1 great-granddaughter, Chloe Oldaker.
Also surviving are 4 siblings, Woody McCullough and wife Mary Ellen, Nancy McCullough, Sherman McCullough and wife Dee, and Alice Hamric and husband Denny, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by 6 siblings, John Jacob, Arthur and Andrew McCullough, Gladys Ellison, Leona Vanhoose and Lillian Clevenger.
Mary Lou’s request for cremation has been honored and a Celebration of life will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Saturday, March 9, 2019 with Pastor Dwight Goff officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lewis County. Friends will be received from 12 noon- 1:00 PM; Saturday, March 9, at the mortuary in Glenville.
