Joy Valejean Boggs Postalwait, age 88 Rosedale, WV; went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Clay Health Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born May 5, 1931 in Perkins, WV; daughter of the late Forest E. and Gale Turner Boggs.
Joy was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed studying the Bible, quilting, gardening, and was an amazing cook. Joy was a Baptist by faith and member of the Rosedale Baptist Church for the last 50 years.
Surviving is her daughter, Dreama Rose and husband Clarence of Rosedale, WV; 2 grandchildren, Joy Machele Rose of Rosedale, and Eric Rose of Ruffin, NC; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kody and Dylan Rose of South Charleston, WV.
Also surviving are 2 siblings, John Boggs and wife Sharon of Perkins, WV; and Janis Knall of Kent, OH; special nephew, Mark Smith of Elyria, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Along with her parents, Joy is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Helen Melton and husband George, Harold Boggs and wife Nellie, Betty Lou Stiltner, Barbara Dages, and Bryce Lee Boggs.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Saturday, July 13, 2019 with Pastor Stewart Fitzwater officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Normantown, WV. Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 PM; Saturday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
