Pearl Lee Morris age 106 of Sand Fork, WV departed this life in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her residence in Sand Fork following an extended illness.
She was born February 3, 1914 in Clay County, WV; daughter of the late Elmer and Jennie Griffin Keyes.
Pearl was a homemaker who loved to care for her family. She was a Christian by faith who enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, tending to her flowers, and spending time with family and friends.
On April 22, 1944 Pearl was united in marriage to Velmer R. Morris who preceded her in death on December 23, 1994.
Surviving are 5 children, Donald Metz and wife Wanda of Ravenswood, WV; Bill Metz and wife Marilyn of Jonesboro, IN; Virginia Jones of Sand Fork, James Morris and wife Sandra of Front Royal, VA; and Helen Morris of Glenville.
Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Pearl is preceded in death by 2 children, Harold Metz and Margie Howard, 2 brothers, George and Ed Griffin, and 3 sisters, Cora Moore, Mary Hughes, and Marie McKinney.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Moore Family Cemetery in Summersville, WV at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2020 with Lonnie Strickland officiating. Burial will follow graveside services.
