December 7, 1929 - August 26, 2020
Audra Lee Stalnaker, 90, of Grass Run Road, Normantown, WV went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2020 in the comfort of her home. Audra was a member of the Hardman Fork Baptist Church and remained an active member until health issues prevented her from attending. After that, on Sunday mornings you would find her watching Dr. Charles Stanley or other gospel ministers so she continued to hear the gospel preached. Her Bible and Sunday school book were always on the kitchen table.
Audra was born on December 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Forrest and Gladys Ancell. On November 1, 1948, Audra married the late Ronald Gene Stalnaker who preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her children Barbara Miller (Michael), Judy Stalnaker, Sandra Rankin, Sherri Stalnaker and Ron Stalnaker (Gina); grandchildren Hilary Anderson (Eddie), Jason Miller (Misty), Sarah Smith, Whitney Stalnaker, Carrie Lamson, Brian Rankin, Quinn and Nick Stalnaker; great-grandchildren Katie, Kara and Kolton Anderson, Ari Burhan, Caleb Lamson and Michael Blue Miller. Audra was “Mammy” to the grandchildren, and her house was always a happy place for them to be.
Audra’s biggest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was happiest when her house was full with family and filled with conversation and laughter. She enjoyed cooking, keeping her family well fed, bird watching, watching cooking shows, Jeopardy, and the Pittsburg Steelers. Her patio flowers were a great joy to her and everyone that saw them.
Per Mom’s request, a private family graveside service will be conducted at the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Route 5 West of Glenville, Sunday, August 30, 2020 with Pastor Larry Fisher officiating. Mom said in her final letter to the family, “Do not grieve for me, I have had a wonderful life. Be happy and take care of each other.”
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Glenville Cancer Fund, 217 East Main Street, Glenville, WV 26351, ATTN: FBC Cancer Fund.
Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is honored to assist the family of Audra Lee Stalnaker with arrangements.
