Obituaries

Edna Louise Roberts age 88 of Glenville, WV departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Monday, September 7, 2020 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center in Glenville, following an extended illness.

She was born on December 12, 1931 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Marshall and Lennita Dennison Miller.

Edna is a graduate of Tanner High School, class of 1951. She was a home health aide in and round Gilmer Co., for many years and a former employee of Kenney Shoe Factory. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed tinkering with her son, Jeff doing carpentry work, and traveling across the United States with her son, Carl while he was an over the road truck driver. She also was a great cook, who loved caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are 3 children, Barbara Smith of Glenville, Carl Roberts of Glenville, and Jeff Roberts and wife Robin of also of Glenville.

Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her parents, Edna is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Herbert Miller and Thelma Brady.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, September 11, 2020 with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Following services, Edna request for cremation will be honored and cremation burial will take place on Saturday morning, September 19, 2020 at the Pisgah Cemetery along WV Hwy 5 West of Glenville. Friends will be received from 12 noon – 1:00 PM; Friday, September 11, 2020 at the mortuary in Glenville.

In accordance with the mandates set forth by the State of West Virginia, masks or some kind of facial covering must be worn inside the mortuary establishment and social distancing must be observed.
