Teddy Jack Hickman age 77 of Dusk Camp Run Road, departed this life suddenly the morning of Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his residence, following a sudden illness.
He was born January 3, 1943 in Gilmer County, and is the son of the late Cecil and Beatrice Flint Hickman.
Ted is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1961. He was a 38 year veteran of the West Virginia Coal Mines, having been an electrician for most of that time. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his dogs, Blacky and Toby.

Surviving are 3 children, Teddy Jackson Hickman (Anita) of Dusk Camp, Diann McCullough of Point Pleasant, WV; and Marvin Lewis Hickman of Duck Camp, and 5 sisters, Lorena Stout of Stouts Mills, Lucille Break and Janie Hickman of Weston, WV; Margorie Freeman of Pickle Street, WV; and Beverly Ann Kingray of Florida
Also surviving is his former wife of 55 years, Lois Heater Hickman of Glenville, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Teddy is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jerry, and Jearl Hickman, and a son-in-law, Robert McCullough.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, November 22, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery in Stouts Mills, WV. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
In accordance with the mandates set forth by the State of West Virginia, masks or some kind of facial covering must be worn inside the mortuary establishment and social distancing must be observed.
