Edna Fay Walton, age 82, of Bridgeport, WV; passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 from complications of Covid-19.
She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Edna was born on February 10, 1938 in Burnsville, WV, Braxton County.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glenn Arnold Walton, her parents, William Raymond and Sylvia Marie Murphy, her non-biological parents, Jacob A. and Jessie Minnich, and her brother, Denzel Murphy.
Edna is survived by her 3 children, Jack A. Walton, of Miami, Florida; Gary L. Walton, of Uniontown, PA; and Annette Jill Naylon, of Littleton, CO; 2 grandchildren, Richard L. Walton and wife Amanda of Pittsburgh, PA; and Tyler C. Naylon of Buffalo, NY; and 3 great-grandchildren, Deacon, Penelope and Sloan Walton of Pittsburgh, PA.
She is also survived by 6 sisters, Annabelle Kramlick of Waxhaw, NC; Marie Slavinsky of Crosby, TX; Lois Cain of Cantonsville, MD; Linda Minnich of Charleston, WV; Ann Minnich of Glenville, WV; and Marilyn Dennison and husband Joe Dennison, of Glenville, WV. Also surviving are several beloved nieces and nephews.
Edna enjoyed spending time with her loving family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid bowler, reader, enjoyed camping, traveling, NASCAR, professional sports and college sports. She was an avid WVU sports fan.
She was a devoted homemaker and an active member of her community through volunteer work for the Red Cross. She will be greatly missed by so many who knew and loved her. She was truly one of the kindest and gentlest souls.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Troy IOOF Cemetery in Troy, WV at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow. It is recommended that the public follow social distancing and face mask guidelines set forth by the CDC and the State of West Virginia.
Directions to the Troy IOOF Cemetery: from I79 South take the Glenville Exit #79. Turn right onto WV Rt 5 towards Glenville. Go approximately 14 miles to the intersection of Rt 33/119. (Walgreens is on the right corner). Turn right. Stay on 33/119 until you see Somerville Exxon & Grocery on the right. Just before Somerville’s store turn left onto Rt 47. Go through the small community of Troy and in approximately 1 mile go straight ahead onto Rt 18. Troy Cemetery will be the first road on the right.
