Arden Lee McHenry Jr. age 72 of Linn, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home on Little Ellis Road, following an extended illness.

He was born December 19, 1948 in Gilmer County, WV; son of the late Arden Lee and Garnet Pearl Radcliff McHenry.

Arden is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1968. He is a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam conflict. Before his disability, Arden worked as a well tender in the Oil and Gas industry.

In his spare time, Arden enjoyed helping with the Midway food pantry, riding ATV’s, spending time with family and friends, and he liked to joke around with everyone.

On October 5, 1979 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Flower McHenry, who survives at their home on Little Ellis Road.

Surviving is his loving son, Aaron McHenry and wife Sharon of Weston, WV; his grandson, Zachary of Glenville, sister, Margie McHenry Flower of Linn, and brothers, Kennard McHenry of Mt. Clare, WV; and Gerald McHenry and wife Linda of Linn, WV.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with his parents, Arden is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Charles “Leroy” McHenry, Leonard McHenry, Basil McHenry, and an infant brother, Leeman McHenry.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 5 2021 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the McHenry I Cemetery near Sand Fork, WV. Friends will be received from 10:00-12:00 Saturday morning at the mortuary in Glenville.

In accordance with mandates set forth by the State of West Virginia, masks or some kind of face covering is recommended while inside the mortuary establishment.
