Holbert K. Richards
November 26, 1935 - December 26, 2021
Hobert K. Richards, 86, of Big Springs, WV; departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Sunday, December 26, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born November 26, 1935 in Big Springs, son of the late Emory and Ora Bartlett Richards.
Hobert is a Christian by faith and worked in the oil and gas industry as a Laborer and equipment operator. He worked for both Hope Gas and CNG having retired in the early 1990’s. In his spare time, Hobert enjoyed working with and riding horses, tinkering around his home, living the quiet life in WV; and he enjoyed being in the mountains.
On December 15, 1956 he was united in marriage to Alta Nicholas Richards, who survives at their home in Big Springs.
Surviving are 5 children, Loren Richards of Big Bend, WV; Lyle Richards (Lydia) of Big Springs, Neal Richards (Donna) of Grantsville, WV; Eric Richards and fiancée Jennifer of Big Springs, and Gretchen Boatright (Ron) of Nobe, WV.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Hobert is preceded in death by 12 siblings, Alta Huffman, Louie Collins, Lola Barrett, Genevie Hardman, and Lester, Lee, Park, Cleo, Lawrence, Orla, Woodrow, and Obed Richards.
Hobert’s request for cremation has been honored and it is his wish to go back to the mountain.
