William C. “Bill” Summers, 89 of Normantown, WV; departed this earthly life in the afternoon hours of Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV; following an extended illness.
He was born November 25, 1932 in Calhoun County, WV; son of the late Cleo and Obyra Rhodes Summers.
Bill is a graduate of Calhoun County High School class of 1951 and a United States Army Veteran, serving his country from 1953-1955. He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas with 37 years’ experience and was a member of the Lower Steer Run Baptist Church. He was a lifelong member of the NRA, enjoyed spending time with close friends and family, and was inducted into the West Virginia Trappers Association “Hall of Fame”.
On July 7, 1956 Bill was united in marriage to Billie Jean Currey Summers, who preceded him in death on February 8, 2015.From that union is a son, William Mark Summers of Normantown.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his wife and parents, Bill is preceded in death by a sister Rebecca Burch.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Normantown at 10:00 AM; Wednesday, March 2, 2022 with Pastor Mark Minney officiating.
