Priscilla Bailey, 65, of Cox’s Mills, WV passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Mon General Hospital due to an extended illness. Priscilla was met at Heaven’s Gate by her son Eddie, whom she has been deeply missing since he passed away in 2012.
Priscilla is the daughter of the late Kenneth K. Davidson and Gladys Faye (Roger) Sutphin. She leaves behind the love of her life, Carlous B. Bailey, whom she has been married to since May 8, 1971. She is survived by her son, Carlous C. Bailey and wife Dawn of Cox’s Mills. She also loved her nephews, Roger (Annette) Osborne and Bruce (Tressie) Osborne like they were her own sons. She is also survived by the grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved more than one could imagine, Cylus and Camree Bailey, Shane (Tracy) Moyers, Tyler (Brandy Moyers), Daniel (Erin) Adams, Peyton and Hunter McCune, Gabriel Hauns, Ryan and Kali Carpenter, Jessica (Steve) Goodrich, Daniel and Addy Moyers, Brent and Braylie Moyers, Harper and Tucker Adams, and Trayton Goodrich. She is survived by her loving 4-H and WVU extension family, Jamie Mullins, Daisy (Monroe) Bailey, and Lisa (John) Hess and their children whom she loved like her own grandchildren, Wyatt and Nora Beth Bailey, Jonavan Mullins, and Hala Hess.
Priscilla loved introducing children and the community to 4H and served as the administrative secretary for the extension office over 17 years. She loved camp week and farm show weeks and will be missed at each one. Priscilla loved flowers and gardening, cooking big dinners for everyone, celebrating, and watching her children and grandchildren’s activities. She could always be found with a kind word and loving smile. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork. She was a member of the Cox Mills CEOS, Gilmer County 4H Leaders Association where she was secretary for several years, a Leader of the Leading Creek Dreamweavers 4H Group, and 4H All Star. She was previously very active in Cox’s Mills Tail Twisters. She was a former home health aide in the community.
She is survived by her stepmother, Linda Davidson, and her siblings Kimberly (William) McCray, Macfarlan, WV, Richard Davidson, Smithville, WV, Lisa Sutphin, Smithville, WV and Jamie Davidson, Harrisville, WV. Priscilla is also survived by her former daughter-n-law, Hope Bailey, and Eddie’s former fiancé, Heath McCown who she both loved. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who she loved. Priscilla had many great friends in the community who she enjoyed talking to regularly. She is preceded in death by her sister Elaine Fletcher.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Saturday, March 5, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Horn Creek Cemetery near Cox’s Mills. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Friday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
