Obituaries

Mary Ellen McCullough, 60 of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life with her loving family by her side in the afternoon hours of Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence following a short illness.

She was born June 9, 1961 in Parsons, WV; daughter of the late Barbara Skidmore McCullough and Darl E. Arbogast of Tennessee.

Mary Ellen was a cook in the dining industry, having worked for multiple different restaurants in the Glenville area. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, cooking for her church family, and living by the motto “Saw it, wanted it, told Grandma about it, and got it”.

Mary Ellen is a Baptist by faith and longtime member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church.

On September 16, 1978 she was united in marriage to Woodrow James “Woody” McCullough, who survives at their Camden Flats home. From that union, a son survives, Scott McCullough and wife Christina of Sand Fork, WV; and 3 grandchildren, Leland, Camden, and Lillian McCullough.

Also surviving are 2 siblings, Angie Carder and husband Tim of Linn, WV; and Dwayne Arbogast and wife Kathy of TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her mother, Mary Ellen is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clay and Lonny Arbogast, infant sister, Rebecca, Step-father, John McCullough, and several other family members that are too numerous to mention

Mary Ellen’s request for cremation has been honored and a gathering to honor her will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Sand Fork Baptist Church in Mary Ellen’s honor.
