Mina Louise “Sue” Harris, 77 of Jane Lew, WV; went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born December 6, 1944 in Glenville, WV; daughter of the late Marple and Madge Mowery Townsend.
Sue was a Pastor’s wife and homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, decorating, and working with crafts. She had a big personality, a huge heart, and a love for making others laugh. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible and she was a Baptist by faith.
On September 21 1963 Mina was united in marriage to Pastor Carl Harris who preceded her in death on April 22, 2008.
Surviving are her 4 loving children, Roxanne Judkins and husband Bob of Greenfield, OH; Allen Harris and wife Teri of Fort Worth, TX; Carla Nolan and husband Rick of Jane Lew, WV; and Shane Harris and companion Allison Mayo of Columbus, OH.
Sue is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, Coman Townsend and wife Karin of Tacoma, WA, and 3 sisters, Nancy Ashcraft and husband David of Buckhannon, WV; Barbara Maxwell of Cross Lanes, WV; and Lesa Hines of Charleston, WV.
Along with her parents and husband, Sue is preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey Harris, brothers, Johnny, Ronnie, and Herbert Townsend, and sisters Patricia Peggs, Mary Jane Townsend, and Roxie Townsend.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Siniaville Cemetery near Ripley, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 Saturday at the Mortuary in Glenville.
