Maggie Stump, 98, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Miletree Healthcare Center in Spencer, WV; following an extended illness.
She was born March 28, 1924 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late N. J. and Edna Canfield Frashure.
Maggie spent 20 years working for Glenville State University and after retirement she was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She has been a member of the Hardman Fork Baptist Church for 64 years. Maggie was an expert seamstress, quilt maker, loved knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and preserving food. Maggie loved go to church while she was able, going to the Gilmer County Senior Center, spending time with family and friends who will greatly miss her, and spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible,
On March 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Hedge Stump who preceded her in death on October 18, 2002.
Surviving are 2 sons, Gary Stump and wife Cora of Manheim, PA; and Randy Stump and wife Corlis of Normantown, WV; 3 grandchildren, Rachel Stump of Manheim, PA; Andrew Stump of Spencer, WV; Amelia Stump of Charleston, WV; and 3 great-grandchildren, Summer, Victoria, and Devon Guntz all of Manheim, PA.
Also surviving is a son-in-law, Ray Boggs and wife Shelia of Parkersburg, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Maggie is preceded in death by her daughter Hilda Stump Boggs, grandson Kenny Ray Boggs, 2 brothers, Harry and James Frashure, 3 half-brothers, Ira, Cecil, and Ted Frashure, and 4 half-sisters, Mona Hendricks, Ruth Cawthron, Lucy Langford, and Faery Adams.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Sunday, May 1, 2022 with Pastor Richard Westfall and Pastor Mike Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Fork Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 PM; Saturday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
