Herman “Wayne” McHenry, 74 of Tanner, WV; departed this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior in the evening hours of Saturday, August 27, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born September 24, 1948 in Tanner, WV; son of the late Herman and Virginia “Ruth” Jones McHenry.
Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, especially greeting all the faces at the produce stand. His favorite past times included singing, making canes, fishing, gardening, chicken farming, and spending time with his family.
Wayne is a Christian by faith and was a volunteer firefighter for Sand Fork Station 6 for 15 years.
Surviving are 3 sisters, Rebecca Junkins (Chuck) of Tanner, Susan Claypoole (Jim) of Napier, WV; and Virginia Hardway of Gassaway, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Mary Jane Clevenger, Marie Barto, Judith Ann McHenry, Bill Dean McHenry, and John David McHenry.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, September 2, 2022 with Pastor George Robert Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the McHenry II Cemetery near Sand Fork, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 Friday at the mortuary in Glenville.
