Parker Eugene “Gene” Tallhamer Jr., 63, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly in the early evening hours of Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his residence on Spruce Run Road.
He was born October 6, 1959 in Elyria, OH; son of the late Parker E. Sr., and Wilma Langford Tallhamer.
Gene is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1978. He worked in the oil and gas industry for many years as a laborer and worked the family farm since he was a child. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, living the quiet life in Gilmer County, spoiling his grandchildren whenever possible, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are 2 children, Parker E. Tallhamer III of Glenville, Amanda Cottrill and husband Mike of Normantown, 4 grandchildren, Brooklyn R. and Elizabeth Tallhamer of Weston, WV; and Annabelle and Liam Cottrill of Normantown, 4 siblings, Rusty Tallhamer and wife Grace of Glenville, Norman Tallhamer of Glenville, and Tina Miller and husband Craig of Shock, WV and Mildred “Millie” Plifka and husband Gene of Charlotte, NC.
Along with his parents, Gene is preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Tallhamer.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Thursday, October 20, 2022 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery in Lockney, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 Thursday at the mortuary in Glenville.
