Sharon Kay Short
June 28, 1969 - October 30, 2022
Sharon Kay Short, 53 of Troy, WV; departed this earthly life on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV; following a sudden illness.
She was born June 28, 1969 in Weston, WV, daughter of William and Patricia Pritt Self of Cox’s Mills, WV.
Sharon is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, Class of 1987. She worked as a manager for Go-Mart in Glenville for 23 years and was a hard worker and fair boss. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed vacationing at Myrtle Beach, camping, spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, and she will be greatly missed by all.
On December 30, 1988 Sharon was united in marriage to George W. Short, who survives at their home near Troy.
Surviving are 2 children, Eldon O. Short and wife Brianna of Troy, WV; and Joshua C. Short and girlfriend Nikki Yoak of Troy, WV; 2 granddaughters, Hailey and Harper Short, both of Troy, and 5 siblings, Karen Powers and husband Rick of Alum Bridge, WV; Jeanie Self of Williamstown, WV; Shirley Weaver and husband Donald of Cox’s Mills, Kenny Self and wife Tina and Roger Self of both of Cox’s Mills, WV.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Greeting Sharon in heaven is her loving son George William “JR” Short Jr., and grandson Hogan Short.
Sharon’s request for cremation will be honored and no services will be conducted per her request.
