Curtis Melvin Dobbins, 71 of Glenville, WV; affectionately known as “Tim” went to meet his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 after a long battle of illness.
He was born March 24, 1951 in Exchange, WV; and those that preceded him in death were his parents, Sherman and Eva Opal Dobbins. His 2 children, Shane Dale and Nickie Lynn at birth, 2 brothers Michael and Randy Dobbins, and sister Mona Sue Dobbins.
Those surviving are Romona Reed Dobbins of La Grange, OH; who was married to Tim for 20 years and who remained a dear loving friend. A son he raised as his own, Andrew Yost of Ohio, his sister and caregiver for 10 years Linda Fisher Brannon (John) of Glenville, and his baby sister, Donna Ellyson (Steve) of Berkeley Springs, WV. Tim has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also surviving. A special niece, Anita that took him to dialysis 3 times a week at 5 AM in the morning. She brightened his spirits and kept him on his toes while on those adventures to Flatwoods.
Tim was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Grafton, OH. He worked at Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for 28 years. He enjoyed fixing up old cars in his spare time, loved to fish and come to WV to hunt with his buddies and family. He loved gospel music, country, and bluegrass, and especially loved to hear his nieces and nephews sing. In his later years he enjoyed listening to good Bible preaching on his CD’s.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Saturday, November 19, 2022 with Pastor Richard Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedarville Cemetery in Cedarville, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 Saturday at the mortuary in Glenville.
