Mary Ann “Peg” Radabaugh, 88 of Glenville, WV; (Kanawha Drive Community) departed this earthly life in the early evening hours of Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center, following an extended illness.
She was born May 13, 1934 in Dekalb, Gilmer County, WV; daughter of the late Albert W. and Eva M. Spencer Maxwell.
Mary Ann is a graduate of Tanner High School, class of 1952. She is also a graduate of Glenville State College and had 2 master’s degrees from West Virginia University. Mary Ann is a retired school teacher having taught the children of the Gilmer County School System for many years. After retirement, she continued to tutor children in reading and math well into her 80’s.
In her spare time, Mary Ann was an avid girls’ basketball fan of both Glenville State University and Gilmer County High School. She also enjoyed history, genealogy, writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends.
On August 31, 1953 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Bill Radabaugh, who survives at their Kanawha Drive home.
Surviving is a son Robert L. “Bob” Radabaugh and wife Sharon of Sand Fork, WV; a grandson, Jeremy B. Radabaugh of Charleston, WV; and 1 sister, Louella Stalnaker of Glenville.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by 4 siblings, Albert “Wilbur” Maxwell, Fred Maxwell, Willis “Jack” Maxwell, and Janice Martin.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Tuesday, January 3, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery near Glenville. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Tuesday at the mortuary in Glenville.
