Manley James Zinn, 70 of Coxs Mills, WV departed this earthly life in the late evening hours of Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV; surrounded by the loves of his life, Sharon, his wife and his three loving daughters, Shelly, Vada and Aimee.
Manley was born May 17, 1952 in Weston, WV; son of the late Madison Scott and Dale Spurgeon Zinn.Manley is a graduate of Gilmer County High School class of 1970. He enjoyed FFA, 4-H activities and Farm Burea. Manley worked very hard farming the Zinn Family Farm in Gilmer County during the past 50 years of his life. He was well-known for his honesty and the quality of cattle that he made available to buyers in West Virginia and across the United States. Manley loved putting cattle together for all his buyers. Manley was also more than willing to share his knowledge of the how’s and why’s of using vet supplements/supplies. Manley is also a member of the Cox’s Mills United Methodist Church and Gilmer County Farm Bureau.
Manley would frequently comment on how proud he was of his family and how they stayed so close. He was an avid supporter of 4-H and FFA youth programs and their livestock projects and was an avid deer hunter who would only take a vacation the week of deer season to hunt with his family and friends. You could also always find him at the Weston Livestock Market on Saturdays with his grandkids often tagging along.
On June 28, 1975, Manley was united in marriage to Sharon Marie Snyder Zinn, who survives at their Cox’s Mills home.From that union there are three children surviving, Shelly Mason and husband Nathanael of Auburn, WV; Vada Woodford and husband Lance of Coxs Mills, and Aimee Hartshorn and husband Clint of Coxs Mills, WV; and Five grandchildren, Anna Mason, Bristol Woodford, Ella Woodford, Kenley Hartshorn and Blake Hartshorn.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Wednesday, March 15, 2023 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher/Zinn Cemetery in Cox’s Mills. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 PM; Tuesday evening at the mortuary in Glenville. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions be made to the Coxs Mills Community Building, 8667WV Highway 47 West, Coxs Mills, WV 26342.
