Earl Lee Barnett, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023 at his resident in Glenville, West Virginia. He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a nephew and one of his sisters, who all loved him dearly. Moreover, his family were by his side 24/7 to make certain he knew how much he was loved and to ensure he was comfortable. Earl was 80 years young. His family is deeply saddened by his death but they truly know he is in a better place smiling brightly as he is now with his lovely wife ALura Lou. Earl was heartbroken after her death in 2016 and it was obvious his love for her never ended. His health started to decline after ALura’s passing. She was his everything, his purpose in life, and they were married for 55 years prior to ALura’s death. Earl was born on December 7, 1942.

Earl is survived by his children, his son Darrell L. Barnett and daughter Michaela Conrad (spouse Andy), and their children Earl’s greatgrandchildren Ashlynn Grace & Ella Layne, daughter Annette L. Wolfe (spouse Randy) and their son, Earl’s grandson Blake Christian Wolfe, and Earl’s youngest daughter Carolyn J. Arbogast, her children Carolyn Barbe, her son’s and Earl’s great grandson’s Jacoby Earl Bennett & Dakoda Victor-Lee Bennett, Tabitha Barbe, her children and Earl’s great grandchildren Ady Jade and KC, Thomas Barbe (spouse Annie) and their children, Earl’s great grandchildren Micah, Maddison, & Lucah, and SheBeck D. Barbe, her son’s, Earl’s great grandchildren Colton & Dominick McCune.

Preceded in death are Earl’s lovely wife ALura Lou Barnett, his parents Virginia Thersa Sench and George Lee Barnett, his maternal grandparents Vera and Peter Sench, and his paternal grandparents Susan and Theodore Barnett.

His amazing sisters were by his side along his purposeful journey and was always there to support their brother, his sisters are Alice Ruth Roberts (spouse Bobby Jean Roberts – deceased), her daughters Earl’s nieces Jeannie Richards and Virginia “Jenny” Starcher (deceased), Elaine “Judy” Wilmoth (spouse Hayward Wilmoth – deceased), and their children Earl’s nephews and nieces David Wilmoth (spouse Dawn), Richard Wilmoth, Darlene Wilmoth, Rita Leach (deceased), Brenda Merick, Don Wilmoth, Susan A. “Sissy” Butcher (spouse Hugh Allen “Butch” Butcher – deceased), their children, Earl’s nephew Roger Butcher (spouse Amy), and niece Connie Sue Butcher. He had a lot of great nieces and nephews too that he loved dearly.

Earl’s passions were drawing, painting, building, wood working, cooking, working on cars, and the great outdoors. He had artistic talent and has drawn and painted many gifts for his family and friends. In his late age, he was pulled over and given a ticket for going 90 plus miles an hour and needless to say that was the end of his driving! He found comfort and peace in spending quality time with his family. He dearly loved his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and spent quality time with them on a daily basis, he was referred to as Pap and/or Pappy. Earl was a loving family man who loved the Lord and his family more than life. He had so much faith and he never worried. You never left his house without holding his hand and saying a prayer as a family. He would always ensure his family texted to make certain they arrived home safely. Earl always said I LOVE YOU daily… even up to his passing when he no longer could speak, eat, nor take meds, but he seemed to get the words I LOVE YOU out! His outlook on life was beautiful. He was a soft spoken man of few words, and he was so humble with a heart of gold. He literally would give you the shirt off his back and the last bit of money he had in his wallet if someone needed it more than him. He taught every one of his kids to drive at an early age even before their feet could reach the pedals. He also loved working on cars at young age, and he could fix anything and rebuild a motor in no time. He taught his children to change a tire with a crow bar the old fashion way, check the oil and so much more! Earl truly loved going on scenic Sunday drives “everyday” through the countryside and he loved watching Elvis and Westerns. He could recite every line in a western movie. He loved the holidays, mostly Christmas and Thanksgiving as you were with family, and instead of watching the Macy’s day parade it was Elvis all day and a feast.

Earl cared so deeply for the people around him, he was so kind and passionate. He made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again, we will keep Earl’s memories in our heart and we will carry on his legacy of always loving one another no matter what. What lasts in life is love, he would say it is not wealth nor materialistic things of this earth we should treasure but the love and those memories made with family. What comforts us are the unforgettable memories shared along the way on our earthly journey with Earl. These are Biblical verses that suites Earl along with many others: Love one Another – John 3:35 & Fathers encourage and comfort their children –1 Thessalonians 2:11–12. Earl was always there to comfort and love his wife, children and entire family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ellyson Funeral Home in Glenville, West Virginia. A private family viewing is at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2023. Close friends are welcome from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and the service commences at 2:00 pm. Thereafter, the Interment will be privately held for family. A special thank you is extended to Hospice and all the incredible nurses who helped care for Earl in the latter part of his life. Also, to Mr. Terry Ellyson and family for being so wonderful and supportive to Earl’s family when making his Celebration of Life arrangements. Heartfelt thanks goes out to family and friends who have called, sent flowers, food, and kind notes expressing their deepest sympathies…Losing a loved one is difficult but with family and friends is makes the grieving a tad easier. We are so very grateful for all of your love and support.
