Charles E. Persinger, 61 of Orlando, WV; (Rocky Fork Community) departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Monday, August 14, 2023 at his residence following a courageous battle with Lymphoma.
He was born August 26, 1961 in Weston, WV; son of Mary (Freeman) Kelly of Rocky Fork and Claude Persinger of Oakland, MD.
Charles worked as a tree trimmer in the timber industry having been the Owner/Operator of Little Man’s Tree Service for over 20 years. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed hunting, ATV riding, being outdoors whenever he could, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandkids whenever possible.
Along with his mother, Charles is survived by 3 children, Mary Rader of Belpre, OH; Charles Persinger II of Parkersburg, WV; Margaret Wyatt of Glenville, WV; and 4 siblings, Jerry Persinger of Rocky Fork, James Persinger of Belleville, WV; Etta Sterling of Oakland, MD; and Thomas Kelly of Belpre, OH.
Also surviving is his loving long term companion, Delaina Persinger of Rocky Fork, a host of grandkids, and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Debbie Persinger, 2 children, Craig and Jacob Persinger, a brother, Dana Paul Persinger, and his step-father, Clarence E. “Gene” Kelly.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday August 20, 2023. Burial will follow in the Heater Cemetery on Posey Run in Braxton County. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
