Obituaries

Mary Frances Hickman, 84 of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Monday, September 4, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born October 16, 1938 in Lewis County, WV; daughter of the late John and Clyda (Barker) Cosner.

Mary was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She loved spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids whenever possible, spending time with family and friends, watching westerns on TV, going to yard sales, and she was an amazing cook.

On August 1, 1958 Mary was united in marriage to John W. Hickman, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2014.

Surviving are 5 children, Brenda Rexroad and husband Frank of Turkey Fork, Jerry Hickman of Gassaway, Pam Moss and husband John of Glenville, Liz Hickman of Glenville, and Charlene Dulude and husband Dean of Glenville; 9 grandchildren, Jonathan Rexroad, Lisa Marie Phares, Michelle Jamison and husband Matt, Nathan Jamison, Jessica Hutchinson and husband David, Jacqlyn Swiger, Ashley Moss Smith and husband Charlie, Travis Moss and wife Heather, and Daniel Dulude and wife Marissa. 

Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren, 2 adopted grandsons, Zack Burkhammer and David Hoard, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. 

Along with her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by 1 brother, James Lee Cosner. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV, 26351 at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Steele Cemetery, on Turkey Fork. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (the funeral hour) Friday at the mortuary.
