Virginia Hardway, 59 of Gassaway, WV; departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Braxton Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, following an extended illness.
She was born in November 10, 1963 in Weston, WV; daughter of the late Herman and Virginia “Ruth” (Jones) McHenry.
Virginia was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed working puzzles and being outdoors.
Surviving is a daughter Vivian Scrogham of Gassaway, 1 granddaughter, Jasmine Scrogham, 2 sisters, Rebecca Junkins (Chuck) of Tanner and Susan Claypoole (Jim) of Napier, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Burton Jr., and a still born son, Noble Wayne Burton 6 siblings, Herman “Wayne” McHenry, Mary Jane Clevenger, Marie Barto, Judith Ann McHenry, Bill Dean McHenry, and John David McHenry.
Virginia’s request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of her life will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, September 20, 2023 with Pastor Lloyd Stewart and Pastor George Jones officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM; Wednesday the 20th at the mortuary in Glenville.
