Rexell F. Spaur
September 7, 1940 - April 16, 2024
Rexell F. Spaur, 83 of Joes Run Road, Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly in the evening hours of Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV; following a brief illness.
He was born September 7, 1940 in Gilmer County, son of the late Charles D. and Retha (Gregory) Spaur
Rexell is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1959 and worked as a carpenter in the construction industry for most of his working life. In his spare time, Rexell enjoyed woodworking, farming, living the quiet life in the Sand Fork area, caring for his pets, and he was a Methodist by faith.
On April 18, 1964 Rexell was united in marriage to Evelyn Gay (Weaver) Spaur, who preceded him in death on May 15, 2016.
Surviving is 1 son, Garry Spaur and wife Kelley of Philippi, WV; and a sister, Hilda Mace of Parkersburg, WV.
Rexell is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his wife and parents, Rexell is preceded in death by 7 siblings, James ‘Bud”, Charles, Rondell, and Drexell Spaur (twin), Anita Tennant, Delores Murphy, and Agnes Heater.
Rexell’s request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date.
