Sharon Kay Bailey, 54 of Cox’s Mills, WV; departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Friday, June 7, 2024 at her residence surrounded by all those who loved her.
She was born February 17, 1970 in Orrville, OH; daughter of Ellen Sue (Taylor) Byrd of Burnthouse, WV; and the late William F. “Bud” Byrd.
Sharon was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed ATV riding, camping, being outdoors, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, and going to the beach.
Sharon is a Christian by faith and member of the Glenville Community Church in Glenville.
On May 25, 1995 Sharon was united in marriage to Richard Bailey who survives at their Cox’s Mills home.
Surviving are 5 children, Lucas Minney and wife Jessica of Burnsville, WV; Joanna Stansberry and husband Ben of Smithville, WV; Derek Minney and wife Laura of Burnthouse, WV; Daniel Minney and wife Emmalee of Burnthouse, and Mikayla Miller and husband Dustin of Harrisville, WV; and 11 grandchildren, Serenity, Addy, Jace, Kenton, Zack, Riley, Brady, Ella, Luke, Ginny, and Soraya.
Also surviving are Carolyn Lowther and husband Brenie of Linn, WV; Karrie Jones and husband Gerald of Madison, GA; Lora Jones and husband Rodney of Parkersburg, WV; and Connie Hatfield and husband Sam of Parkersburg, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her father, Sharon is preceded in death by her sister Becky Byrd.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Thursday, June 13, 2024 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazelgreen Cemetery in Ritchie County. Friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 PM; Wednesday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
