Melvin E. Hess, 72 of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born April 6, 1952 in Glenville, son of the late Charles and Mildred (Laugford) Hess.
Melvin worked as a laborer in the oil and gas industry. He was also a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for various companies around WV. In his spare time, Melvin enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s and horses, spending time with family and friends, and caring for his dog, Hooch.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Ashley Hess of Nutter Fort, WV; and Jennifer Hess of Sutton, WV; 5 siblings, Charles “David” Hess (Sandy), Denzil Hess, Donald “Hoy” Hess, and Michael “Tiny” Hess (Stephanie) all of Glenville, and Martha Tribett of Ravenswood, WV; and his former wife and mother to his children, Rebecca Nicholson of Grantsville, WV.
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other wonderful family and friends.
Melvin’s request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of his life will be conducted later in the Fall of 2024
